Saturday, April 16 - Carl Schurz Park's 6th Annual Egg Hunt

Carl Schurz park hosts its 6th Annual Egg Hunt, featuring an afternoon of family fun!  From 1-1:30pm, kids can decorate an egg collection bag, which they can then use in one of three egg hunting sessions.  Egg hunts will take place at 1:30pm, 2pm and 2:30pm.  From 1pm-3pm, families will get to partake in cupcake decorating and face painting by FaceArt by Melissa.  The event will conclude at 3pm with a live performance by Moey's Music Party in the playground.  During the event, the  Carl Schurz Park Bunny will be hopping around and available for pictures.

Macaroni Holidays: Naturally Dyed Easter Eggs


No more fizzy tablets!  No more crazy pouches of coloring!  This year, consider tossing out the store-bought kits and using natural ingredients to create colorful and healthy Easter eggs with your kids.  You'll enjoy an afternoon of fun while also teaching your kids a little something about science. 

To obtain different colors for your Easter eggs, use the following materials:

Blue:  canned blueberries, red cabbage leaves (boiled), purple grape juice 

Brown:  strong coffee, black walnut shells (boiled), black tea 

Golden Brown:  dill seeds 

Orange Brown:  chili powder 

Gold:  turmeric ...
