Before my daughter Sadie arrived, I recall seeing kids in restaurants using iPads and gaming devices while their parents chowed down and swearing up and down that that would never be our family. Nope, we would buck the trend and be that Utopian unit that engaged in meaningful dinner conversation with our very well-behaved child who would never throw food on the floor or refuse to eat anything with even the slightest speck of green in it.
