Saturday, July 18 - Fitnotic Baby Boot Camp in Central Park

Fitnotic Baby Boot Camp is appropriate for moms (with or without their babies) and expectant moms alike.  This hour-long class will combine a cardio workout with exercises targeting each major muscle group.  Bring your baby and involve him/her in the workout as well - just be sure to bring a blanket/carrier/sling/stroller and a yoga mat for yourself!  This class will be held weather permitting - in the event of rain, the class will be canceled.

Look closely at modern masterpieces and cutting-edge contemporary art in MoMA's "A Closer Look for Kids" program.  Families explore the artwork of MoMA's collection and temporary exhibitions through lively discussions in the Museum's galleries.  Each month, a new theme is introduced.  July's theme will be "A Room of One's Own".

Spend the morning at MoMA and see the world through the eyes of a four-year-old!  In this program specially designed for four-year-old visitors and their parents/caregivers, you'll look, listen and share ideas as you explore the world of modern and contemporary art.  Interactive gallery activities and discussions give everyone the chance to participate.  Each month, a new theme is introduced.  July's theme will be "Stop, Look and Listen!"

On July 20, 1969, astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were the first humans to walk on the moon.  But what about the first bugs?  You'll imagine and create phantasmagorical space bugs to take giant leaps for bugkind on your own lunar landscape.  For inspiration, McNally Jackson staff will read the entertaining new children's book "One Small Step:  Celebrating the First Men on the Moon" by Jerry Stone.

Saturday, July 18 - Bike New York Learn to Ride Class

This class teaches a safe, easy, effective way to learn to ride.  Using a "balance first" method, parents help get their children rolling while their child does most of the work.  Participants learn the basics of balancing, starting, stopping and steering a bike, as well as proper helmet fit and adjustment.  All cyclists must wear a helmet and have a bike that fits.  The cyclist must be able to set his or her feet on the ground while sitting on the bicycle seat.  Parents are encouraged to remove training wheels prior to the class, if possible.

apple seeds launches its summer concert series with a special songs for seeds class and open play in its dazzling indoor playground!  songs for seeds is a cool rock music class that encourages kids to sing, touch instruments (from drums and guitars to violins, flutes and clarinets) and play along with a live, three-piece band, as well as dance and move as much as possible.  Kids travel around the world experiencing music and language from a new country every week.  The band creates well-known nursery rhymes through art and song and does magic tricks as a way to practice numbers and counting.
