My 4 1/2-year-old daughter Sadie has become more than a little bit obsessed with the Disney Junior show Doc McStuffins as of late.  In fact, Sadie is so enamored of Doc that she's decided that when she grows up she wants to be "a doctor and a mommy."  I'm totally on board with both of those aspirations, and want to nurture and support Sadie's curiosity in that regard as much as I possibly can.  To that end, I was thrilled when I was selected to receive the LeapFrog Tag Human Body Discovery Pack, a five-piece set (including a two-sided interactive chart and game board) which brings the human body to life and allows kids to discover how the body works via play and exploration.

We're big fans of the LeapFrog Tag Reader in our house, and Sadie has enjoyed hours of play with her Tag Reader books and maps. The Human Body Discovery Pack is a new addition to the Tag Reader lineup, and it's a welcome one to say the least!  My budding doctor couldn't wait to get started exploring the myriad learning activities (more than 40!) contained within the Human Body Discovery Pack's two-sided interactive chart and game board.  The Human Body Discovery Pack is an innovative departure from the traditional Tag Reader products in that, rather than a book, the interactive learning material is contained on a fold-out, two-sided chart that allows kids to get up close and personal with the human body and its components and functions.  Meticulously detailed illustrations bring the body's skeletal, muscular, nervous, digestive, respiratory and circulatory systems to life, while interactive games provide even more insight to the nuances of the human body. 

Sadie's recently become quite fascinated with the idea that everything she eats or drinks ends up going out of her body in some way, shape or form, so of course the digestive system was her favorite portion of the chart, although she was also intrigued by the nervous system and learning about how the brain controls the five senses.



The interactive growth chart included with the Human Body Discovery Pack was also a hit with Sadie, who not only measured herself on the chart, but promptly began measuring each and every one of her plush Disney Princesses (in case you were wondering, Merida is the tallest).  And she didn't just measure them once - she's been measuring them each and every day to see if they've grown (if they had, Disney would have had some serious 'splaining to do!).  And of course, the interactive sticker sheets that accompany the growth chart also went over well with Sadie, who loved completing the skeleton on the chart with glow-in-the-dark skeleton stickers.  She's also looking forward to marking her own growth using the interactive milestone stickers included with the set.



I'll confess that, as I went through the LeapFrog Tag Human Body Discovery Pack with Sadie, I learned a few things myself, or at least rediscovered facts from my high school biology class that I'd long since forgotten.  No more stumping me on the difference between the metacarpals and the carpal bones!  The level of educational material contained in this set is astonishing, and I was thrilled that my 4 1/2 year-old daughter was able to quickly grasp complex concepts and sophisticated information via the clear and concise verbal prompts, games and interactive activities contained within this Tag Reader product.  So next time you're in need of some medical advice, Sadie's taking appointments!  Ok, perhaps I shouldn't get ahead of myself, but suffice it to say, the LeapFrog Tag Human Body Discovery Pack has only served to heighten my daughter's interest in the field of medicine, and it's an interest I love being able to encourage!
