My daughter Sadie loves anything having to do with cooking or baking, and she's particularly fond of any culinary project that involves lots and lots of sprinkles.  This is no joke - the kid is a full-blown sprinkle fanatic.  So of course Sadie was absolutely delighted when the folks at Cheryl's, one of our favorite purveyors of tasty treats, sent her the super fun Halloween Cut-Out Cookie Decorating Kit. This fun new kit arrives with everything you need to create yummy buttercream frosted Cheryl's treats at home with absolutely no baking required.  The kit includes 24 un-frosted pumpkin and ghost cut-out cookies, a one-pound tub of vanilla buttercream frosting, a one-pound tub of chocolate buttercream frosting and, of course, a Halloween sprinkles container with a variety of fun decorative sprinkles.

Sadie has had a blast frosting and decorating her Cheryl's Halloween cookies, spreading on as much of the frosting as possible and completely dousing each cookie in sprinkles.  She's been so proud of her cookie masterpieces that she even brought some to school for her teachers to enjoy.  I'm always a bit wary of these do-it-yourself kits that come with pre-baked cookies, but I have been completely impressed with the Cheryl's cookies.  They arrived super fresh and were so tasty that I found myself sneaking some of them as snacks - no frosting necessary!  Although the frosting is indeed quite tasty, as evidenced by the fact that Sadie has been eating it by the spoonful (ok, so perhaps I get a little lax when it comes to Halloween sweets!).  And the sprinkles - oh the sprinkles.  Sadie cannot get enough of the orange and black sanding sugar, which she has been dumping on her cookie creations with little to no restraint, and she also loves the ghost, bat and tombstone sprinkle decorations, which she's been carefully placing on each cookie before promptly devouring the finished product.  Cheryl's Halloween Cut-Out Cookie Decorating Kit has been a resounding success with Sadie, and it's a safe bet that I'll be looking into more Cheryl's treats as we head into the holiday season.  Fortunately, Cheryl's offers a wide variety of pre-made and create-your-own treats for every occasion, so Sadie and I will have plenty of options.  For more information on Cheryl's Halloween products and full lineup of treats, visit www.cheryls.com.
