Don't miss out on all the fun, and please be sure to let them know you saw it in Macaroni Kid NYC Upper East Side! Events are subject to change or cancellation. TOP 10 for the Week

Friday, March 4th

1. Virtual: Yoga with Karma Kids Yoga - Enjoy Kids Yoga for ages 2-5 via Zoom. Online classes are $15. You must register at least 1 hour prior to class.

2. Tada Youth Theater presents Wide-Awake Jake - Join Tada Youth Theater for this family musical. The story is of a little boy who simply can’t fall asleep and the adventures he encounters on his quest for slumber. Join Jake and his friends as they meet a lion, a dragon, and a giant, and discover how fun and easy Yawn Power can be. 7pm. 

Saturday, March 5th

3. Nature Connections for Kids at Greenhouse and Education Center - Look at patterns in nature, explore seeds, evergreens, bird feeders and much more with garden educator Thalia Flores-Perez. Research has found that nature exposure and feeling connected to nature provides a feeling of well-being… so put on a coat and explore nature with us. Led by our educator Thalia Flores-Perez, who regularly visited Riverbank Park as a kid, we will look at patterns in nature, start seeds, explore evergreens, build bird feeders, conduct science experiments and create land art that brings the outdoors in. Hablamos espanol. Classes are just for children ages 6 - 8.

4. Family Storytime at SNFL Children's Center : Stories, Songs and Rhymes for Little Ones: Join us for songs, rhymes, and favorite read-aloud books in this storytime that’s fun for the whole family. Registration is required. FREE.

5. Historic Ship Tours at Pier 16: - A 19th-century vessel. An early 20th-century lightship. Here and now. The Seaport Museum provides a rare opportunity to board and tour the 1885 tall ship Wavertree and the 1908 lightship Ambrose, which are moored at Pier 16 as part of the Museum’s collection. Access the multiple decks on Ambrose. Visit the cargo hold on Wavertree. Learn about life at sea and the days of the ships’ captains and crews. Entry is free. Guided tours on Saturdays: 11AM–5PM, departing hourly from the reception desk at 12 Fulton Street.

Sunday, March 6th

6. Gazillion Bubble Show at New World Stages: Gazillion Bubble Show is the most unbubblievable show in the world! Bubble lovers of all ages are delighted with an incredibubble experience, awashed with a bubble tide, and perhaps even find themselves INSIDE a bubble. Mind-blowing bubble magic, spectacular laser lighting effects, and momentary soapy masterpieces will make you smile, laugh, and feel like a kid again.

7. Discovery Walk for Families at the Ramble in Central Park: Get "lost" with us in the Ramble! Explore how this carefully planned woodland provides habitat for a variety of wildlife. $5 per family (2 adults, 4 children max). 90 minutes. 0.49 miles. Starting from the Belvedere Castle.

Monday, March 7th

8. Lapsit Baby and me at SNFL Children's Center -Join us for a special time to bond with your little one and meet other caregivers. We will explore the joys of movement, books, and songs, in addition to building early learning skills you can practice at home. Come prepared to sit with your child on your lap. 10:30 and 11:30

Wednesday, March 9th

9. Virtual: Society of Illustrators: Exploring Black Star: As part of Carnegie Hall’s 2022 citywide Afrofuturism festival, the Society of Illustrators presents, Exploring Black Star. Take a journey to the world of Afrofuturism—an ever-expansive aesthetic and practice—where music, visual arts, science fiction, and technology intersect to imagine alternate realities and a liberated future viewed through the lens of Black cultures. This IG live event will feature the author and artist of the ABRAMS Megascope book BLACK STAR, Eric Glover and Arielle Jovellanos. The talk will deal with the trials of adapting a screenplay into a graphic novel, the inspirations for the story and the process of bringing the technology and world of BLACK STAR to life. FREE. 12pm-1pm

Thursday, March 10th

10. Virtual: Coqui Club Bilingual Toddler Program with El Museo del Barrio: El Museo del Barrio invites kids and adults to enjoy our onsite, online, and in-the-community art making workshops, storytelling, and movement workshops that encourages everyone to learn more about Latino art and culture. Learn, play, explore, and grow during El Museo’s bilingual program for our tiniest visitors. Join us each month as we embark on an adventure to discover new ways of interacting with art and each other. With time for play, Coquí Club provides a fun and active way to explore El Museo and enjoy creative themes together. Recommended for ages 0-5. FREE.
