Saturday, May 19 - American Ballet Theatre Kids Pre-Performance Workshop

Join the American Ballet Theatre prior to ABTKids for an hour of fun, hands-on activities that will provide an exciting and informative introduction to the works kids will see on The Met stage.  Children, divided by age, are invited to participate in activities directed by ABT Teaching Artists.  As an introduction to the movement of ballet, the children are guided through a ballet warm-up and taught a short piece of choreography based on a work they will see during the ABTKids performance.  No experience necessary, and kids are encouraged to wear their favorite dance clothes.

The Circle Line kicks off its Kids Cruise season with performances by Dan Zanes and Elizabeth Mitchell, a live interactive tour guide, a juggler, magic, balloon artistry, a meet-and-greet with The Berenstain Bears, raffle prizes and giveaways, a gift bag and more.  The Kids Cruise is a great way for young children to discover the sights of NYC and have the chance to learn fun and exciting facts about the city. Insects are everywhere and in this class taught by our Urban Ecologist, we'll learn about the ones that make the zoo home. We'll collect insects from various habitats around the zoo. We'll sort the collections and try to identify the species. We'll also plant a helpful insect garden right in the zoo to attract pollinating insects. Each participant will take home their own insect trap to collect and observe the ones they see in their neighborhoods.

It’s an alien invasion and we’re about to get slimed!
