Friday, September 24th
1. Little Maestros (Ages 3 Months- 3 Years) at Central Park - East 72nd Street - You and your child will love our catchy original music, musical story-time, language development segments, funny and meaningful puppet shows, and "bubble music". Little Maestros is continuously creating! Each class is fresh and special. Friendships are made, children have the ideal experience for their developing minds and spirits, and everyone leaves with a smile!
Saturday, September 25th
2. Blossoming Ballet in the Park @ Four Corners Creative (at the Great Lawn) - Register your budding star in a class at Four Corners Creative in the Upper East and West Side! Four Corners Creative is a boutique arts and fitness company for children that introduces students to musical theater, acting, and dance. Children (in grades pre-k to high school) will learn the basics to becoming the next Broadway star through a variety of activities including improv, storytelling, movement, and music—kids will be ready for their next performance in no time!
3. Wings, Wands & Woodlands: Fairy Workshop @ Water's Edge Garden in Randall's Island Park - Visit our urban woodland to make all things fairy: wands, wings, and little fairy houses. Walk along our forest path to look for signs of fairies, protectors of our woods and streams.
4. Kayaking (Saturdays) @ Brooklyn Bridge Park - Glide along the water while kayaking from Pier 2 on Saturday.
Sunday, September 26th
5. Lexington Ave UES Festival - Street fair with authentic foods booths, merchandise vendors, and a variety of goods for you to explore and enjoy in the city of New York! Come make a Macaroni Necklace with me! We will be there!
6. Alley Pond Park Adventure Course: Free Sunday Programs - When Alley Pond launched its public outdoor ropes course 14 years ago, it was NYC's only one—and this summer/fall you can try it for FREE on Sundays! Elements include a "zip-line," a climbing and bouldering wall, a trust fall station, swings, nets, leaps, and balance platforms. The Adventure Course program lasts about two hours.
Monday, September 27th
7. Kids At Art - In Studio - In our children’s art classes, we’ll explore the basics of art in our warm, nurturing environment, where everyone is an artist! Children will learn to use various mediums – paint, pencil, cray pas, watercolor, and more. We’ll also learn about collage, printmaking, sculpture, plaster, and papier-mache. Our kids will develop their drawing skills and learn to draw and paint from still life or a photograph.
8. Little Jay Music & Play in Central Park at E 76th Street - Join us for 40-minutes of music and early enrichment in Central Park. Bring your own props (we recommend shakers, scarves, tambourine/drum and a puppet or stuffed toy) and blanket.
Tuesday, September 28th
9. Dance Act Sing Be (6-8-year-olds) with Broadway Kids - Children will participate in activities built around specific age-appropriate musicals, involving all aspects of musical performance, including singing, dancing, and acting. This holistic approach reaches every aspect of a child’s personality, fostering harmonic well-balanced development. Through movement, kids will improve their flexibility and coordination and through acting and singing, they will focus on their self-confidence, peer interaction, imagination, and musicality. Our students do this all while being fully immersed in popular Broadway musicals, sure to keep them active and engaged!
10. Beginner Code @ The Coding Space - In our Beginner course, we use Scratch challenge projects as our core curriculum. By starting in Scratch, a block-based coding language, we skip over the small syntactic details of text-based languages and cut directly to the difficult part of coding: formulating one’s ideas into a logical sequence of steps. Students can jump into this class with no prior programming knowledge and in just a few hours build a foundational understanding of core computer science concepts through building games and animations. As they progress through this course, they’ll continue to learn essential programming constructs and develop a computational thought process that will prepare them for more advanced material.
