Don't miss out on all the fun, and please be sure to let them know you saw it in Macaroni Kid NYC Upper East Side! Events are subject to change or cancellation. TOP 10 for the Week

Friday, January 7th

1. Furry Friday at the Museum of the Dog - Furry Fridays are back at limited capacity, so make sure to reserve your spot! Free to members but open to everyone, reserve a ticket by signing up here for you and your dog(s). Visit the Museum during our special "furry" friendly hours. Reservations are required to attend.

2. Kids Night Out at the 92Y - Join 92Y Athletics for a fun-filled, socially-distanced evening of fun with plenty of time for unstructured, supervised socialization time. Children have access to our state-of-the-art facility for specialized instruction with professional 92Y coaches and much more! Children participate in a range of activities that vary depending on the evening. Activities rotate between gymnastics, parkour, games, court sports, crafts, obstacle courses, disco light freeze dance, and socialization/unstructured playtime.

Saturday, January 8th

3. The Waterfall Mansion - Art is communication. Through our Guided Tours we envision and bring the stories of each artists to the viewers to empower people and see the imagination flourish through art education. Private Guided Tours of the main gallery floor and four upper levels of the mansion are available by reservation only on Saturdays at 2 pm and 4 pm. Private Viewing of the Gallery Floor (Free Admission)

4. The Legend of La Befana- Learn about the Italian story of La Befana on Saturday, January 8th from 3:30-4:30pm at Collina Italiana. There will be will art, singing, and dancing! Registration is $35, which includes supplies and materials provided during the workshop.

Sunday, January 9th

5. Virtual: Jewelry Making from Neue Galerie: Style icon Debra Rapoport shares the perfect at-home, hands-on activity with you, providing instructions to repurpose and recycle household items to fashion fabulous cuffs inspired by some of the exquisite pieces of Wiener Werkstätte jewelry on display at the Neue Galerie. Use everyday goods and a few craft supplies to embellish cardboard rolls to recreate the vivid colors and palette of works by legendary designers such as Carl Otto Czeschka, Josef Hoffmann, Koloman Moser, and Dagobert Peche. Make your own magnificent jewelry and share your work with us!

6. Virtual: Imagining a Whole New World- A Place for You and Me at the Met : Join us for a virtual workshop for young people with learning and developmental disabilities and those on the autism spectrum to talk about art and make art at home! Reservations are required and space is limited. 

Tuesday, January 11th

7. Virtual: Live Toddler Storytime - Ready to move and sing and read books together? Catch up with Hal and Allison as we sing songs, read picture books, and move around together--virtually! Throughout this program, librarians will provide opportunities for engagement and interaction with numbers, letters, colors, and open-ended questions. The expectation of this program is that caregivers will engage with children while the program is being conducted, helping prompt exploration and interaction with their real-life environment. This event is online only.  Any child under 5 welcome!

8. Virtual: Creative Writing Club: Many stories involve long, hard periods of travel. Write about people who must leave one place and go to another-- for a mystical quest, to escape something bad, or just because they need something new. This is an online workshop intended for ages 7-12. It is held over Google Meets. Once you register, you will get the link to the meeting 24 hrs in advance of the workshop. It is important that an adult be present in the room for every child in attendance. 

Wednesday, January 12th

9. Virtual: Why not Code? with Cooper Hewitt: Can code act as a design tool? In this workshop, join multidisciplinary designer and art director Agyei Archer as we discuss coding and its many applications, its relationship to design, and the implications of new realities such as automation. Along the way, participants will explore a p5.js script, learning to change basic variables to get different, varied outputs.

Thursday, January 13th

10. Virtual: Bilingual Toddler Program with El Museo del Barrio - El Museo del Barrio invites kids and adults to enjoy our onsite, online, and in-the-community art-making workshops, storytelling, and movement workshops that encourages everyone to learn more about Latino art and culture. Learn, play, explore, and grow during El Museo’s bilingual program for our tiniest visitors. Join us each month as we embark on an adventure to discover new ways of interacting with art and each other. With time for play, Coquí Club provides a fun and active way to explore El Museo and enjoy creative themes together.
