Every week, Macaroni KID NYC, Upper East Side shares five things to do with your kids in and around our neighborhood over the coming week. 

Here are Macaroni KID Adina's picks for the five things to do in the NYC, Upper East Side with kids this week. Click on the links for all the details!

1. Story Time at Bryant Park

February 18th from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
FREE

Cali Co Cat and Erin Lee get you jumpin' and leapin' with fun games and stories. Join us in Overlook for this super fun and free storytime for kids. Recommended for ages 2-9, but all ages welcomed.

2. Intrepid Museum Kids Week

February 20th-27th from 11:30 AM - 4:30 PM
4 and under FREE; 5-12 $26 and adult tickets $36

During Kids Week, children of all ages and interests will learn about STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts & math) through fun-filled activities, NASA displays & exhibits, live animal shows, hands-on workshops, performances, special guests and interactive demonstrations designed to educate and inspire.

 3. The Very Hungry Caterpillar

Several run dates, check link for details. From 9:30am - 3:30 PM
$48-$110

The timeless classic makes its way off the page and onto the stage. The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show features a menagerie of 75 lovable puppets, faithfully adapting four of Eric Carle’s stories, Brown Bear, Brown Bear, 10 Little Rubber Ducks, The Very Lonely Firefly and of course, The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

4. Kids Week in Bryant Park

February 21st-24th from 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM
FREE

Tuesday: 

Celebrate Fat Tuesday at Kids Week. Be amazed by the wonders of magic, craft your own colorful masquerade mask, and parade around the park with the sensational Brass Queens.

Move along to a winter workout led by Zing! Fitness, rescue some penguin friends frozen in the fountain, and make bubbles that look like snow!

Thursday: 

Bend, twist, and pose all day. The morning starts with a dance class taught by Jamel Gaines Creative Outlet, and then hop in a storytelling and miming workshop. Make a bendable mini-sculpture and pose for a picture right beside the Ice Rink.

Friday: 

As we wait for spring, learn what plants need to grow healthy and strong. Pot your own basil plant, make a wildflower seed bomb to take home, and contribute a bloom to our community garden mural.

5. NYC Children's Theater: Creative Clubhouse

February 24th from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM
FREE

Join New York City Children's Theatre Teaching Artist, Caitlyn, for a Creative Clubhouse Stories class to celebrate Black History Month! In this class children will use theatre to explore Roda Ahmed's picture book, Mae Among the Stars. The book explores Dr. Mae Jemison's childhood dreams of traveling to space and echoes her fictional mother's words: “If you believe it, and work hard for it, anything is possible”. The class will feature creative theatre, music and movement explorations that dig into some of the challenges and successes of the future astronaut. 

Presented by NYC Children's Theatre

For children ages 5-12.

Registration is required and may be done by phone or in-person starting Saturday, February 18th.
