Hello, Pluie!
As a parent raising kids in NYC, one of the most daunting tasks is finding a clean place to change a diaper. Imagine going out to your favorite restaurant and your baby has a blowout; the atmosphere completely changes. Not because of the blowout, because of the following thoughts, 1: is there a bathroom I can squeeze us into; 2: is it clean; 3: is there a changing station; 4: is that clean; 5: will I get side-eyed if I just use the nearest flat surface.
I have almost completely ruled out public bathrooms as a whole because of what I have seen in the last 8 years, I probably don't need to mention this as you've also seen it too! But shout out to Bryant Park for keeping their public restroom remarkably clean. The mothers of New York City thank you and salute you.
I recently came across a self-sanitizing diaper changing table in a public NYC restroom at Chelsea Market, and was absolutely thrilled and relieved. It was even more of a "hooray" moment when I found out the people behind this brilliant product were two hard-working women who took their idea to Shark Tank and made it. What a wonder those women are!
Let me tell you about the new Pluie®! It's the world’s first and only self-sanitizing diaper changing table for public restrooms. Pluie is powered by a patented UV-C light system known to kill 99.9% of germs including influenza, e. Coli, and coronavirus. The UV-C light system activates when the table is closed, sanitizing the changing surface in just 60 seconds. It's available in both the men's and women's restroom.
Pluie has a plush foam changing surface; you read that right, it's like changing your baby at home on a soft surface - no head bumping or unfamiliar surfaces here. A retractable security strap that smoothly goes over your baby's waist is also within reach. Another fun gadget is the backpack hook at the top of the changing table; you can easily put your backpack and purse on it while you change your little ones. It has everything you need in a large, clean public restroom!
When I find a business that is commited to creating clean and convenient facilities for families in NYC I stick with that business and cheer them on. Chelsea Market has gone above and beyond to make their space inclusive while promoting health and wellness.
Go for a trip to their market, explore the large indoor location and hte many food options available! Don't forget to check out the new Pluie downstairs!
