Splash into Summer: Playland to Open Beach and Pool This Weekend!

Special Ceremony Taking Place to Salute Our Service Members

As one of the nation's most iconic amusement parks since opening in 1928 with over 50 rides and attractions, Playland just opened its historic amusement park last weekend and will reopen the recently renovated Playland Pool and picturesque Playland Beach with panoramic views of the Long Island Sound on Saturday, May 25, 2024 during Memorial Day Weekend.

Located in Rye in Westchester County, Playland will host a special ceremony to honor military heroes. Festivities include special performances and the debut of The Playland Hometown Heroes Banner Program, featuring personalized banners are displayed along the waterfront through Veterans Day as a living tribute to those who serve and have served our country as guests simultaneously enjoy the panoramic views of Playland’s expansive 1.5-mile-long boardwalk. Monday afternoon will also feature face painting, air brush tattooing and entertainment at Kiddyland shows at 2 pm, 4 pm and 6 pm. The evening will end with celebratory fireworks.

In addition, during Memorial Day weekend, Playland will launch its seasonal summer roundtrip ferry service from East 34th Street in Manhattan with a stop at 90th Street and Ferry Point Park in the Bronx with service to Playland on select dates, starting on Saturday, May 25, 2024 in partnership with NY Waterway. Plus, on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at 7 pm, Playland will launch a series of live variety performances at Playland’s Main Stage.
