The Bee Con­ser­van­cy presents their 2nd annu­al World Bee Day fes­ti­val — a FREE fam­i­ly-friend­ly day that cel­e­brates the 20,000+ bee species that pol­li­nate 80% of the world’s flow­er­ing plants! 

Host­ed at the Urban Farm, they’ll offer fun, edu­ca­tion­al pro­gram­ming includ­ing “Hon­ey Bee Hive Dives,” arts and crafts, and native bee and habi­tat talks. Urban Farm neigh­bors Earth Mat­ter will host a Seed Bomb Mak­ing Sta­tion and GrowNYC will reveal how to dis­sect a flower using their own blooms grown local­ly on the island. Plus, enjoy face paint­ing and a musi­cal performance!

Learn how to build sus­tain­able pol­li­na­tor habi­tats, dis­cov­er the fas­ci­nat­ing world of ground- and cav­i­ty- nest­ing bees, peek inside a colony of tens of thou­sands of hon­ey bees.
