Description
A trip to visit Santa at Macy’s Herald Square is a magical holiday tradition in New York City! Here’s everything you need to know to make your visit smooth and memorable:
1. Reserve Your Spot Online
Santa’s Village at Macy’s Herald Square gets busy, so reservations are required. Book your time slot online in advance—reservations usually open 5 days ahead of the date availability and they release at 6:30am.
2. Dates and Hours
Santa stays until Christmas Eve. Hours vary, with extended hours on weekends and closer to Christmas. Check Macy’s website for the most accurate schedule.
3. Arrive Early
Even with a reservation, it’s best to arrive 10–15 minutes early to check in. The earlier in the day your reservation, the less crowded it’s likely to be.
4. Location: Santaland on the 8th Floor
Santa’s Village is located in the magical Santaland on Macy’s 8th floor. You’ll enjoy festive decorations, twinkling lights, and even animatronic displays while you wait to meet Santa.
5. What to Expect at Your Visit
Kids will get one-on-one time with Santa to share their wish list and take photos. Professional photographers are on-site, but you can usually take your own photos too. Be sure to check any guidelines ahead of time.
6. Pricing for Photos
Photo packages are available for purchase, but visiting Santa is free. If you just want to enjoy the experience without purchasing photos, that’s perfectly okay!
